I have a new blog! April 13, 2008

If you check out melissabrownphotography.com, you’ll notice that it’s now a blog! I wanted to have a new awesome-looking blog, so after I hired a designer (the wonderful Jessica Weiser from Fidelio Photography) I decided to host my blog as my main page to make it for easier for everyone to stay updated on my latest photos. The regular site is still available under the “Portfolio” link on the new blog. Go check it out!

BTW, there won’t be any more entries on this blog, so switch your subscription to the new one!

Bridal Show Photos! April 10, 2008

My brother took some photos of me at the bridal show last Saturday:

I had a lot of fun at this show because I met so many great brides! I also really liked how my booth looked. I used a few more big prints than I did at the last show, and I LOVE big prints!

Bridal Show Tomorrow! April 4, 2008

Tomorrow, I’ll have a booth at the Bridal Extravaganza at the South Towne Expo Center in Sandy from 11-5 (9575 S. State Street). I have a new wedding album and engagement book I’ll be showing, I’ll be giving away cards worth $100 off any wedding package, and I’m also giving away 3 free engagement sessions. Anne and Dillon’s Wedding April 4, 2008

Just before I left for Las Vegas, I shot Anne and Dillon’s wedding at Red Butte Gardens. It was a cold but gorgeous day, and the wedding was beautiful.

Bret and Bree’s Engagements March 24, 2008

I shot Bret and Bree’s engagements the day after I got back from Las Vegas. I was really inspired by what I learned down there, so I was excited to take some awesome photos! Bret and Bree are getting married in Arizona, but wanted to do their engagements in Utah. They are really cute together and were a lot of fun to photograph!

Las Vegas! March 22, 2008

Last weekend, I went to Las Vegas to attend the WPPI Convention. I learned a lot about photography and marketing, and I went to some awesome parties! I went to the Photography Mentor party at a huge suite at Mandalay Bay, and I also attended a party in a suite at the Palms. I was able to meet some really famous wedding photographers, which I thought was unbelievable and very exciting. I had a huge grin the whole night, and I kept geeking out with my friend Samantha from Every Little Moment Photography.

Blake and Alisha’s Engagements March 7, 2008

On Monday, I shot Blake and Alisha’s engagements at the Sundance Resort. It was cold, but it was beautiful! Blake and Alisha are getting married May 16th at the Mt. Timpanogos Temple.

Katy and Richard’s Engagements February 29, 2008

Katy and Richard won an engagement session from me at the Bridal Extravaganza last month. We shot the photos on Wednesday in downtown SLC. We encountered a couple of crazy people (a barefoot woman yelled at us!), but we got some great photos anyway. I haven’t done an engagement session in a while, so I’m in the mood to post a bunch of photos!

Engagement Book February 12, 2008

I’ve had my sample engagement book for quite a while now, and it’s been seen at consultations and at the bridal show last month, but I realized today that it’s not on my blog! I wanted to post photos of it here so that those of you who haven’t met me yet can check out what my engagement books look like. They’re 25 pages and you can choose around 30 or so of your favorite engagement photos to put in it. I leave enough white space in the book for your guests to sign at your reception. I think these books are a lot more fun than traditional guest sign-in books because your guests get to see more of your fun photos!
